Call for GEF-SGP, UNDP Project Proposals

The Global Environment Facility’s Small Grants Programme (GEF-SGP), implemented by UNDP provides financial and technical support to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and academic and research institutions to meet the overall objective of “Global environmental benefits secured through community-based initiatives and actions”.

SGP Bhutan would like to invite project proposals from CSOs (including Community-Based Organizations and grassroots institutions/communities) and academic and research institutions, in the below mentioned strategic initiatives that would contribute to “creation of global environmental benefits and the safeguarding of the global environment through community and local solutions that complement and add value to national and global level action”:

  1.  Community Landscape/Seascape Conservation
  2.  Climate Smart Innovative Agro-ecology
  3. Low-Carbon Energy Access Co-benefits
  4. Local to Global Chemicals Management Coalitions
  5. CSO-Government Policy and Planning Dialogue Platforms
  6. Promoting Social Inclusion

The maximum grant size is US$ 50,000 per project and preference will be given to proposals that are innovative and submitted by rural communities and vulnerable groups. Standard project proposal template and guidelines are available at UNDP Bhutan Website. Duly completed project proposals (digital copy) should be submitted to the National Coordinator, SGP, UNDP Country Office, Bhutan.  Proponents are encouraged to explore co-financing and integrate in-kind contribution for the proposed projects.
